Perhaps not the most detailed model on the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce out there, but I'm almost sure it is one of the largest models with a 1/14 scale it is a lot larger than the regular 1/18 models I already own.
This is more a toy than a collector's item, but that didn't worry me, I've been looking at this model for a while now on eBay, but most of the time they are offered from China, and that would mean the RC channel isn't certified for use in Europe, so I hesitated to buy it online.
However when I visited the IAA in Frankfurt this year I found a local seller that had these models complied with German regulations ... so perfect, and it wasn't too expensive either, so I went for the orange version, he also offered the yellow one, and if I'm not mistaking there is also a black one.
This is a large model, and to be honest it is nicely finished for a cheap R/C model, naturally the front is sitting way too high, but that is to protect the spoiler from hitting everthing out there when you are 'driving' it, so I don't see this as a problem, the interior is roughly finished, but hey, most of the time they fit black windows to R/C models ... and no interior at all, so this is a plus for the model.
it might be the kid in me, but I really like the fact they put headlights and taillights in the model, the front lights are nice LED that shine a bit blue to simulate the Xenon headlights used on the real car, at the back there is one LED in each unit ... would have been nice to have two, but you can't have it all. What I did find strange is the fact the headlights come on when you go forward while the taillights only come on when you reverse ?
If you look close at the engine cover you can even admire the top of the V12 engine ... they tought about most details here, and still kept the price reasonable, I really like this model, unfortunately it is too large to put on display, I just don't have the space left, but I stored it very nicely, without batteries in it ... this way in 25 years or so this will be a real collector's item and worth a small fortune ... or not.
It isn't a diecast model, it surely can't be compared to the AutoArt version of the Super Veloce nor the sealed MR model, but it is very nicely finished and deserves it's spot in my collection for sure.
