As usual, MR was the first to release a 1/18 scale model of the new Lamborghini Temerario, the successor to the famous Lamborghini Huracan that was unveiled in August of 2024. One of the main attractions for this new Baby Lamborghini was the fact that the engine could reach a screaming 10,000 rpm, despite losing two cylinders compared to the Huracan’s V10, this twin-turbo V8 now comes with additional electric motors for a total power output of 910 hp.

The press release and official unveiling during Pebble Beach in 2024 showed two different versions of the new Temerario, a Blu Marinus, a satin blue metallic, one that came with a nice, warm brown interior and comfort seats, while the Verde Mercurio, a bright green pearl metallic one had a black interior with lightweight carbon fiber sports seats ... and that wasn’t all, this green Bull came with the Alleggerita package, turning it into a more performance oriented version.

The Lamborghini Temerario Alleggerita seems to be an initial step towards what we’ve known at the Gallardo Superleggera and the Huracan Performante, lightweight, stripped-down versions of the standard version to deliver a more track-inspired driving experience, so is that what Lamborghini intended with this new Alleggerita option?

A standard Lamborghini Temerario will put 1,690 kg (3,725.8 lbs) on the scales, if you opt for the Alleggerita package, the total weight goes down 25 kg, to 1,665 kg (3,670 lbs), thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials, for starters by fitting a CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) front splitter that is more aerodynamically efficient and increases downforce at the front, while being 190 gr lighter at the same time.

Underbody panels, which make the bottom of the Lamborghini Temerario as smooth as possible, are now made from recycled carbon fiber on the Alleggerita option, 550 gr lighter and offering better airflow underneath the new Bull, another 600 gr is saved by fitting CFRP side skirts with improved airflow along the sides of the Temerario.

One of the biggest weight savings in the Alleggerita package is the carbon fiber engine cover that is an impressive 9.2 kg reduction in weight compared to the standard unit, and when you fit a carbon fiber engine cover, the next item is the rear wing, on the Alleggerita that one is also replaced with a carbon fiber wing that saves another 1.6 kg while also being larger than the original one to increase downforce at speed.

If you want to save another 1.81 kg of weight, you’ll have to add another option to the list, the Carbon Pack for the exterior, which contains a carbon fiber rear diffuser, mirror caps, and side air intakes ... every little bit helps in the end, right?

And then we get to the interior inside the Lamborghini Temerario Alleggerita, which comes with carbon fiber door panels inspired again by the Gallardo Superleggera and Huracan STO, more carbon fiber can be found on the central console, and let’s not forget the optional carbon fiber sports seats which look just amazing, they might not be as comfortable as the 18-way adjustable standard seats, but you can’t have it all I guess.

And if you are really brave, you should opt for the Carbon wheels too, perhaps not the most exciting design with just 10 straight spokes, but these really shed weight where it matters on a performance car, and they just look cool with all the other carbon fiber parts on the exterior anyway.

So how did MR do this time with their 1/18 scale model of this rather special Lamborghini Temerario Alleggerita? On one word ... amazing! This is a stunning scale model, and from what I can see all the details are there from the real car, with the Alleggerita Package with Livery in the ‘shiny’ option, meaning it comes with glossy carbon fiber parts and a contrasting ‘line’ on several parts, in this case Rosso.

On the inside, we find the optional carbon fiber sports seats, just like we did on the actual presentation car in California, mostly black, but with a few touches of red too, a simple, sporty-looking interior with a lot of carbon fiber, just as it should be. Fortunately, Lamborghini went away from their Forged Composite material we saw on the Huracan Performante. I was never a fan of that material, I much prefer the classic carbon fiber weave, but that’s just me.

On the exterior all the optional carbon fiber is there too on this MR 1/18 scale Lamborghini Temerario Alleggerita, down to the carbon fiber wheels, splitter, side sills, rear diffuser, engine cover, and rear wing, albeit the roof is just gloss black, which in my opinion should be carbon fiber too, but that’s how it comes on the real car too, so MR is correct on this matter.

If you look close at the rear bumper/diffuser, you’ll notice the upper part, which is the larger Alleggerita rear wing is finished in carbon fiber, the lower diffuser is also carbon fiber, but inbetween those you just get black parts, which again is correct compared to the real car, MR really got their details straight on this model, and I love it.

The MR LAMBO062A is a perfect 1/18 scale version of the presentation model for the Lamborghini Temerario Alleggerita Package finished in Verde Mercurio, sure it’s a sealed resin model, but I just couldn’t pass up on adding it to the collection, will AUTOart ever make it as an opening composite model? I really don’t now, and if they do, it will be many years into the future anyway, most likely some company like LCD models will release it sooner or later, but their Revuelto looks nice as an all-opening diecast, but it’s also €400 or more, which is a lot of money if you ask me, so for now, I’m happy with my MR version.
