When I was a kid, I used to play a lot with LEGO, building all kinds of things, from entire cities over pirate ships to spaceships, later I started collecting diecast scale models of the cars I liked most, eventually focussing just on Lamborghini models, but when LEGO releases a Lamborghini set, I usually get one too, like the very old Gallardo set, the more recent Countach model and the elaborate Sian, an amazing, albeit rather expensive set.

When I learned about LEGO releasing a set for the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica I looked around where to find it locally, I've seen the set being listed on the official Lamborghini Store, but it's rather pricy over there, and there is additional shipping, but I found the set locally at a nice price, free shipping, so I ordered it.

Took a few hours to put together, this new Tecnica set from LEGO can't be compared to their Sian set, it's also only about 20% of the price, but so you know, it's a lot smaller in scale too, I think it's about a 1/16 scale, it is larger than my 1/18 scale models, and just for comparison I've put the completed set next to my MR-made Huracán Tecnica, the car this LEGO set should resemble.

Well, that's a serious stretch of the imagination if you ask me, you really need a lot of artistic interpretation to recognize a Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica in this green LEGO set, I'm sorry, but at least the Sian and the Countach look like the actual car, sure it's still a LEGO building set, but personally I'm rather disappointed with this new Tecnica from LEGO, it just isn't that good, and doesn't even look like the actual car.

One thing that I do have to mention that put a smile on my face is the engine, the ten cylinders actually go up and down when the rear wheels turn, those yellow round tops move because of a kind of crankshaft underneath them, that's a nice touch, other than that the door open to reveal an extremely crude dashboard and even worse seats, so overall, I don't feel this LEGO set is worth the money they are asking for it, sorry.
