This is a limited edition made by Bburago back in the Nineties when the Lamborghini Diablo was being built in Sant'Agata, the model itself was available in different shades, at first in yellow and red, later on they added grey, black, blue metallic, purple metallic, pink metallic and even a fully chromed version ... all of which found their way into my collection already.
But this specific yellow model is mounted on a glossy wooden plinth, and it doesn't come in the regular Bburago box either but in a nice wood look alike, completely closed box to make it look a bit more luxurious.
I missed out on these when they were readily available, I don't remember how much these were in those days, but I do remember they demanded a high premium for this wood plinth version, these days they became rather difficult to locate, and when they do come up they are 50 Euro or more ... which made finding this one as an auction even better.
To be honest I would have prefered the red version, as I think it would look better on this shade of wood, but still I don't worry too much as I paid only €25 for it, including shipping, so I consider that to be a very nice deal.
Should you be adding this one to your collection ? I really did want to get hold of one, I know the Countach is also available this way, so I'm looking for one to show up, but I will not pay full price for it, but will wait for another one to show up for auction and hope to get hold of it for a nice price.
I consider this one to be a 'nice to have' and surely not a 'must have' ... it is one of those models that belongs in a Lamborghini scale car collection, but not at any price.
