Back in 2014 Automobili Lamborghini SpA finally unveiled the successor to their V10 Gallardo model, after 14,022 units in about 10 years of production a total evolution was long overdue ... at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show the Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 was unveiled to the general public.
The Lamborghini stand showed a yellow Huracán on black wheels, a grey metallic one of silver wheels and a white one, also on silver wheels ... also note the official factory dealer demonstrators were mostly finished in white too, over a black interior, silver wheels and red brake calipers.
Shortly after the introduction Bburago released four shades on their 1/18 version, a model which is really nicely finished by the way, and a very good value for money alternative ... but a strange thing happened with the white 1/18 Bburago Huracán paint, it was meant to mimic a pearl metallic white, but that didn't turn out too well, the shade looked strange.
As the official press release from Lamborghini on the new Huracán LP610-4 showed a yellow and a white car I specifically wanted to add those two shades to my collection, the yellow Bburago one looked nice, but when Kyosho released a sealed model in the Giallo paint I just had to get that one, at the same time Kyosho also released a 1/18 Rosso Mars Huracan ... so that one ended up in my collection too.
But I was still looking around for a Bianco Lamborghini Huracán ... when AutoArt finally released their 1/18 model it came in white, but the first reviews weren't too good, and the fact this model was listed at €200 kept me from ordering one ... in the end I did order a 1/18 AutoArt made Huracán, but the Arancio Borealis shade ... I didn't have an orange metallic Huracán in my collection.
In early 2016 Kyosho announced two new shades for their Ousia series, sealed diecast models ... the impressive Verde Mantis ... and Bianco Monocerus, yes, finally a white one for a decent price. Only problem was that both the Giallo and the Rosso one from Kyosho were discounted to €70 while the new green and white ones were listed at €95 ... bummer.
But I still ordered one for my collection, despite the fact the black wheels and red BiColore seats weren't really correct with the press car and the dealer demonstrators ... but I love the red brake calipers, and personally I would in fact order this red and black combination for the seats and door panels in real life ... the black wheels I'm not so sure about, I would go for titanium or just silver ones.
I guess everything good ... and bad about these 1/18 Ousia series from Kyosho has been written in the two other reviews I did on the yellow and the red version of this Huracán, so I'm not going to repeat it again ... sure these are sealed, so nothing opens, but other than that these Kyosho made Huracán are really nicely finished, a few flaws, but when you look at their shelve presence they are hard to beat value for money wise.
One thing about this white one ... the paint has a few flaws, there are a few dust specs in the paint, the corner of one of the wheel arches on my model had some scratches, that didn't disappear with my usual wax procedure ... I think the white paint is a little more vulnerable to such defects as the Rosso Mars one from Kyosho was simply amazing.
If you are looking to add a white Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 in 1/18 scale to your collection, and the €200 AutoArt one is just too expensive for you, this €90 Kyosho version surely is the next best thing ... it is worth three times the price of the white Bburago one, trust me. (I did see a new release from Bburago in white that looked better, so I guess Bburago changed the shade on it)
