The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento was a concept car shown at the 2010 Paris Motor Show ... completely finished in clear carbon fiber (the 6th element) with glossy red accent the Sesto Elemento looked amazing, and interest was high ... but this was a concept only, and no production was foreseen at that moment.
Later Lamborghini decided they would build 20 units of the Sesto Elemento at a staggering 2 million Euro price tag ... and still they sold out even before the first one was ever delivered ... or even built, so safe to say there is still enough money out there to be able to sell such a special, expensive car.
I will most likely never see another Sesto Elemento again (I did see it in Paris) so my only option is getting a scale model of it, which I did a long time ago by adding the MR 1/18 edition in original carbon fiber to my collection ... but recently I found this 1/18 RC model on eBay.
The seller offered a few different shades, but none of them the original carbon fiber finish, so I went for a mat black one ... with the highly contrasting red air outlets and intakes it looks rather impressive. Being an RC model we get rear wheel drive and LED headlights and taillights, so when you 'operate' it you do get the impression of driving an exotic.
The problem with the mat black finish is that it scratches very, very easily ... even when I took it from the box the first time there were already scratched on the fender and roof ... a brand new model straight from the box looking like this ... I was a bit depressed to be honest.
Fortunately this 1/18 RC model didn't cost too much, so I'm not going to make a big issue out of it, but it did put a damper on the fun in the end, I can understand it scratches quickly when you drive it, but from the box it should be pristine.
