The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 was introduced at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, safe to say it became an instant hit ... soon the waiting list grew to 18 months for the real deal, fortunately these scale models are easier to obtain, and most of all they don't cost as much either.
And all those model makers out there knew they had solid gold in their hands, a lot of licensing was sold by Automobili Lamborghini SpA, and soon the first 1/18 models were available from MR, later on joined by Bburago and Mondo Motors ... and soon we should be able to get the highly detailed AutoArt Aventador in 1/18 too.
But I collect all kinds of scales in my Lamborghini collection, I now have the Lamborghini Aventador starting from the small 1/64 scale over 1/43, 1/32, 1/24, 1/18 and even a massive 1/10 model, but the only 1/24 scale Aventador was finished in white, made by Maisto, so when I found this Arancio Argos shade (which happens to be the shade used for the car taking center stage in Geneva ... and in the official press release) I just couldn't pass it ... so I now have the same shade from the smallest right up to the largest scale Aventador in my collection.
Now don't get your hopes up too high when it comes to this 1/24 scale model, it is made from Maisto, so you know we are talking about a diecast ... toy, these are not collector editions and the details aren't as nice as on a Franklin Mint Countach for instance ... but still it shows the lines of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 nicely, so I don't mind it isn't at the top of the scale car market ... hence it isn't that expensive either ... so double luck for us poor collectors.
So adding this 1/24 Maisto made Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 scale model is more about completing a collection than having a highly detailed model to showcase in a prominent place ... still I love these low cost models for what they are ... another Raging Bull in my collection.
