I don't know how it happened, but I found out I never added this Bburago made 1/18 scale Lamborghini Reventon to my list before, probably an oversight on my end, as it sure does deserve a spot in the collection anyway.
Sure it isn't up to specs next to the AutoArt made one, but remember this Bburago only cost about 25% of the AA made one anyway, and don't even compare prices with the amazing MR made model … that one is in another league of its own, trust me, even the AutoArt only scratched at the bottom of it.
But back to the Bburago model here, I know people have been complaining about the fact these are not really 1/18 models, but more 1/19 … ok, I have measured some of them, and I agree they don't reach 1/18 scale … as long as it fits inside the well-known Bburago box we'll have to live with it I guess, these are diecast models after all and not collector's items, keep this in mind.
Still this model looks really nice, the matte paint still has the metallic flake in it, both doors open, as does the front luggage compartment and the engine cover, so we can take a peek inside the car. And even inside all the small details are there, some are a bit rough, but still Bburago managed to put down a very nice scale model once again, and at a very competitive price.
However in this specific market area Bburago has a major competitor … Mondo Motors. Yes, you read it correctly, the 1/18 scale model on the Lamborghini Reventon by Mondo Motors is actually a very, very good diecast … in some areas even better than the Bburago, so I would advise you to take a close look at both models before adding one to your collection … this was one of those rare occasions Mondo Motors made a stunning model, unlike their Aventador which really is only a glorified toy to be honest.
So if you are not too serious about your models, or don't want to spend AutoArt amount of money, the Bburago is a very good alternative to at least have a Lamborghini Reventon in 1/18 in your collection.
