When I discovered a listing for a black Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 scale model by Hotwheels Elite in 1/43 I also found this white version (apparently they are also releasing the Arancio Argos shade later on), and after seeing the real car in white in Geneva I just had to get a scale model of it.

Personally I love the Looksmart 1/43 models, but these are so expensive, and I still prefer the larger 1/18 models, so I did put in a pre-order for a mat white 1/18 MR version ... I already received the 1/18 MR in orange, and it is stunning, so I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of the mat white edition ... so when I found this 1/43 Hotwheels version of the Aventador in white I went for it to keep me comfort until the large 1/18 one arrives.

I actually ordered both the black and the white Hotwheels together, so they arrived at the same time, and I immediately noticed a serious difference between them ... admittedly these aren't the highest detailed models, but the Hotwheels Elite still look decent, however the black one looks a lot better compared to the white one.

Let me explain that ... if you look at the black one you don't tend to notice the paint is applied rather thick, there are no sharp edges anymore like on the real car, however on the white one you still see those edges ... but also all the little errors that the black camouflages better.

For one on the left side the paint between the lower part of the door and the side sill looks weird, as if there is a space that hasn't been filled with paint, it makes the side of the Hotwheels Aventador look strange.

Go to the front and your eye is captured by the black air intake, again the paint is applied very roughly, same thing with the rear air outlets, the matt black is applied in such a way it looks sloppy ... probably the black version suffers from the same problems ... but this white shade just shows these problems better.

I actually put this white Aventador next to a 1/43 scale model of the Lamborghini Murcielago from Minichamps, just to check out the differences between the original Murcielago and this new Aventador, and again you notice the lack of fine details on the Hotwheels version, Minichamps isn't the best 1/43 option for a Lamborghini, but still they managed to release a very nice Murcielago model.

Bottom line : perhaps this 1/43 scale Lamborghini Aventador isn't the best looking around, but at this moment your only other option is the much more expensive Looksmart or the even rarer MR models ... so for now I for one am quite happy with these models ... perhaps one day we will see this Raging Bull released by AutoArt and I'm sure it will be more precisely detailed, but that could be a few month ... or years in the future, so why not admire the Aventador in 1/43 from Hotwheels Elite for now.
