In the mid-eighties you had a few models to choose from when it came to Automobili Lamborghini SpA, you had the absolute flagship model, the V12-powered Countach, the LM002, also powered by a V12 engine, and the entry-level model, the V8 Lamborghini Jalpa, originally unveiled at the 1981 Geneva Motor Show, officially named the P3500, also referred to as P350 because being an evolution of the Urraco P300, over a seven-year production span just 410 units of the Jalpa would leave the gates in Sant'Agata.

The mid-life evolution of the Jalpa was revealed at the 1984 Geneva Motor Show, with new taillights with dual round lenses, also the engine cover, complete with the side air intakes and the roof panel were now color-coded to the rest of the car, while the steering wheel was updated, still no airbags as they weren't required in the Eighties.

The scale model

KK Scale would release a total of four different shades on their 1/18 scale recreation of the Lamborghini Jalpa, Bianco Polo Park, Nero Tenebre, Rosso Siviglia, and this bright Giallo one.

But it turned out the yellow one would take several more months to arrive compared to the red, white, and black ones, rather odd if you ask me, but that's how it was, so now I can finally have all four of them in the collection.

I remember stating back in April of 2024, when reviewing the Rosso Siviglia, the red one with a tan interior would be the one I would get if I only bought one of these, and now having all four together side by side, I still stand by that opinion, the Rosso one is still the nicest of the four, and while this yellow one does look very nice, the all-black interior lets it down a little compared to the other three shades.

I have seen a few yellow Lamborghini Jalpa in real life, and while some do have this plain black interior, I have seen one with a stunning dark blue interior with red piping, now that would have looked absolutely amazing inside this KK Scale model, or imagine a two-tone black and yellow interior ... that would be stunning, but not period correct as Lamborghini didn't offer that option back in the Eighties.

I do love this KK Scale Lamborghini Jalpa model, and I'm convinced you really should add one of the four shades to your collection, the V8 Jalpa has to be considered as being the father of the Gallardo, hence the grandfather of the Huracan, with the brand new Temerario being the final successor at the time of writing.
