When it comes to wealthy car enthusiasts, there are a few distinctive differences between them, some settle for a highly optioned model that can be ordered from a local dealership, in the Lamborghini roam this usually involves some expensive bespoke options from their Ad Personam studio.

But when you are really a well-known customer you are offered the opportunity to buy one of the few-off models they offer, like the Lamborghini Sian, the Sian Roadster, or the new Countach LPI800-4, all built in very limited numbers, and only available to valued customers that have a number of Raging Bulls in their garage already.

And then you get into the top tear of Lamborghini customers, the ones that can have something truly unique, not one of the few off with lots of Ad Personam options, but a real one-of-a-kind Lamborghini, like the 2012 Aventador J for instance, with a rumored MSRP of $2,000,000 back then, in 2013 there was the Lamborghini Egoista which is priceless I guess, it ended up on the famous Albert Spiess collection in Switzerland.

It took a few more years for the next one-off to surface in 2018, the Lamborghini SC18 Alston, again based on the Aventador, this V12 was heavily inspired by Squadra Corse, completely bespoke for one specific customer, with a reported pricetag of $7,000,000, which didn't deter the owner one bit as rumor has it he, or she, also commissioned the SC20 in 2020.

Remember Albert Spiess mentioned before, well he managed to convince Lamborghini to build him a replica of the legendary Countach Prototype, another multi-million dollar car for sure, and while we're on a roll, management at Automobili Lamborghini SpA decided to send off the famous NA V12 with two more homage models, the Invencible and the Auténtica, a coupé and a convertible, and while MR has announced both of them on a 1/18 scale, so far only the Auténtica got delivered, which is the model I'm looking at here.

In real life, the Lamborghini Auténtica one-off was acquired by a customer in Monaco, finished in Grigio Titans with Nero Nemesis details and Giallo Auge livery and brake calipers, and as there is no roof whatsoever on this model, the interior is clearly visible from the outside, with carbon fiber lightweight seats boasting a Giallo Taurus upholstery combined with Nero Ade leather and Nero Cosmus Alcantara, Grigio Octans completes the interior that shows a lot of visible carbon fiber details.

On the Lamborghini Auténtica there is no Supercapacitor like we've seen on the Sian and Countach LPI800-4, instead, we get the final evolution of the 6.5-Liter V12 engine delivering a total of 770 hp, just like we know it from the Aventador SVJ and Aventador Ultimae.

The scale model

So how did MR do with this amazing one-off Lamborghini Auténtica on a 1/18 scale?

I'm not going into the design style of the Lamborghini Auténtica, that's a matter of personal taste in the end, I rather like it, it's aggressive and different, but I can imagine others might not enjoy it so much, but what I like about this MR model is the sheer number of carbon fiber decals on it, both on the outside and on the inside of this model, and they show a beautiful V-shape over the center, exactly as seen on the real car.

But there is one thing that just didn't go down well when I took a closer look at this model on my shelve ... the intakes ... especially the large ones behind the doors, in front of the rear wheels, and the smaller ones on top of the rear quarter ... they are sealed!

Lamborghini Auténtica by MR

Come on MR, this is a €400 model and you go with sealed grilles ... like a €40 Bburago model? That's completely insane if you ask me, and more importantly, there are actual metal grilles to be found all over this model, so why would you opt for sealed grilles inside those massive intakes on the sides? That's totally wrong if you ask me.

Other than that, I really love this model, it's another Aventador-based one-off from Sant'Agata, and I like it for the fact it is a pure V12 engine, no hybrid stuff that only adds about 30hp anyway.

I just wonder how expensive it would have been for that Monaco resident to add this beauty to the collection if you take into account the Sian with 69 units had an MSRP of $3,700,000 and the Countach LPI800-4 with 112 units was $2,700,000 in 2022 ... chances are the Auténtica with just one unit for the entire world would easily be $5,000,000 or more.
