Imagine ... you've got all the money in the world, you can buy any car that is being built, and your garage is already filled with supercars and hypercars, but you want something else, something nobody else can buy ... so you convince Lamborghini to build you a one-off model, something just for you.

And that is exactly what happened with the Lamborghini SC20, a totally bespoke car, built for one happy customer back in 2020, designed by Centro Style and engineered by Squadra Corse, the racing department at Lamborghini, using the basics of the Lamborghini Aventador ... at a rumored cost of €7,000,000.

The result is a magnificent looking, bright pearl white metallic, totally roofless car with just a very low windshield, but with a massive carbon fiber wing at the rear, taking inspiration from the Aventador J (another one-off), combining that style with the Veneno Roadster (a few-off as Lamborghini calls it, nine were made), with a hint of the Concept S, the 'special' Gallardo topless car.

The styling for the Lamborghini SC20, which stands for Squadra Corse 2020, is surely reminiscent of what we would find on the track, but with that low windshield, I do hope it came with a set of color-coded helmets because we're still talking about a 6.5-liter V12 engine behind the two seats, with 770 hp and 720 Nm of torque going to the four-wheel drive through the well-known 7-speed ISR gearbox powering massive 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear in a center-lock setup made from aluminum, they do look like the 7-spoke wheels from the Veneno if you ask me.

The large rear wing has the same three settings we've seen on the Lamborghini Veneno too, with 'Alto', 'Medio', and 'Basso' for the different levels of downforce that can be set, and apart from the way the doors open, upwards and sideways, nothing much else on the exterior of this one-off makes you think about the Aventador Roadster chassis that was used to create this unique beauty.

But that quickly changes on the interior, this is clearly an Aventador interior, with beautiful, but harsh lightweight carbon fiber seats, finished in a stunning combination of Nero Cosmos and Bianco Leda with Blu Cepheus details to tie in with the exterior that is finished in a custom color, created specifically for this car, Bianco Fu that also shows some livery in Blu Cepheus on the bodywork.

Do note that the air vents on the dashboard were 3D-printed for this Lamborghini SC20, something we've also seen on the interior of the Lamborghini Sian in 2019, and while some might not like the styling of this Lamborghini SC20, it sure looks beautiful on photos, also note the exterior rearview mirrors on this car that look like they've been borrowed from the SCV12 Essenza race car ... I for one rather like the SC20, it is a true Lamborghini, very aggressive, and extreme, just like a Raging Bull should be.

So when MR announced this model on a 1/18 scale back in 2021, I put in my pre-order to add this to the collection ... it would take until mid-2024 to finally arrive, but she's a beauty, and I absolutely love having this model on display between some of my other MR Lamborghini models like the Sian Roadster, the Aventador J, and the Autentica, another one-off, but more on that one later.

Unfortunately, other than the official press photos, only one single photo of the real car being driven on the road has been seen, it seems the owner is a very private person, and as far as I know, just that single photo has been made of this car after it was delivered, no other spots, nothing, rumor has it, the SC20 was ordered by the same customer who also owns the SC18, the previous Squadra Corse one-off car from 2018, which after the initial photos and a run at the Goodwood Festival of Speed has disappeared from view too, never to be seen again ... perhaps both cars are just sitting in a garage somewhere in the world, which would really be a pity.

But at least I can now admire the SC20 as a model in my collection, and when AUTOart finally ships out their 1/18 model of the SC18 I will have both of them in the collection, side by side probably, but there are two things I would like to bring up about this MR-made beauty.

For such a high-end make, with prices to match, let's face it, this isn't a cheap model, I found two disturbing issues on this model, for one they messed up the writing on the inside of the rear wing struts, it should say 'Realissata a Sant'Agata Bolognese', just as it did on the Lamborghini Sian, but instead MR messed it up and put 'SRNT'AGATA' instead! Doesn't anybody double-check those things, I was even under the impression the prototype model had to be shipped to Automobili Lamborghini SpA for approval... well, someone needs a new pair of glasses if you ask me.

The second issue I found is perhaps even more baffling, check out the large intake behind the doors, in front of the rear wheels ... that's a sealed grille! What's going on with MR here? We're not talking about a €50 Bburago model, this is a €400 sealed resin and you put sealed grilles on it? I had to double-check, but it is sealed, so I checked the Aventador Ultimae from MR I have, those have nice photo-etched grilles on the side air intakes, so why did MR go for sealed grilles on this new SC20?
