I never understood why MR didn't make a 1/18 scale version of the Lamborghini SC18 Alston, Looksmart made this 1/43 scale model, and usually MR comes out with the 1/18 version a little later on, but that never happened with the SC18, unfortunately.

The Lamborghini SC18 Alston was a bespoke order from a wealthy customer who convinced Automobili Lamborghini SpA to create a one-off for him, based on the then-current Lamborghini Aventador.

The name SC18 comes from the fact this model was designed in collaboration with Lamborghini's Squadra Corse, their in-house race department, back in 2018, hence the SC18 designation.

Rumor had it, that the client was asked €7,000,000 for this unique race car-inspired, Aventador-based one-off, but that didn't scare him away, as it's been told that the SC20, an open-top version of this one, was also ordered by that same individual.

Fortunately for me, AUTOart has announced they will be making a 1/18, all-opening model of this Lamborghini SC18 Alston, and I've already seen the prototype of it. However, it was announced a few years ago at the time of writing, and still, nothing is being mentioned about when we might be able to add that AUTOart to the collection, so for now, I'll settle for this 1/43 scale Looksmart version that has been sold out a long time ago.

This model was also part of a large collection of 1/43 scale models I acquired from a fellow collector, containing several Looksmart-made Lamborghini models.
