Let's go back to March 2015, press conference day at the Geneva Motor Show, at that time probably the most important car show in the world, on the Automobili Lamborghini Stand we see the black cover being pulled back on an amazing-looking, New Giallo Orion Aventador model, the LP750-4, better known as the Superveloce.

Glossy black Dianthus center lock wheels, a design created specifically for the Aventador Superveloce, satin black parts on the very aggressively styled front bumper with massive air intakes, partly satin black painted side sills, a fully 'dry' carbon fiber rear diffuser in a matching aggressive style to the front bumper with an intimidating center-mounted quad-exhaust, above that a large, fixed wing, also in the satin dry carbon fiber finish, the side air intakes behind the doors are now fixed, they no longer rise as seen on the LP700-4, and you guessed it, also finished in carbon fiber.

The engine cover comes in the same carbon fiber finish on the fins while the interior shows a bespoke stitching pattern for the Superveloce, we see the Y-shape on the seats inside the cockpit, and while the seats from the Aventador LP700-4 are now an optional 'Comfort seat', the Superveloce has some amazing, lightweight carbon fiber seats, customers would later mention they aren't too comfortable, but it's an SV, so it should have racing-inspired seats.

Also note the interior could be fitted with CarbonSkin, a fabric created by Lamborghini that mimics carbon fiber, but as a kind of cloth, very nice, and perfectly suited for the Aventador Superveloce, which came with an increase in power to 750 hp and a decrease in overall weight of 50 kg, but more importantly, the Aventador Superveloce was a limited production car, only 600 units of the coupe would be made for the entire world, with an MSRP of 327,190.00 Euro w/o VAT back in 2015.

But get this, the official press release for the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce showed a new color for this model, Rosso Bia, a new glittered paint developed for the Superveloce, together with Blu Sideris ... and at the Geneva Motor Show, after the official press days, they switched the New Giallo Orion car for a Rosso Bia Superveloce during the public days.

It took MR a rather short time to release a 1/18 scale model of the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce in Rosso Bia, their LAMBO019A version, by September 2015, but I wasn't able to buy one at that time, so I got the Kyosho Ousia version by August 2016, a very nice model for the price, and one that is still part of my collection at the time of writing.

Fast forward to August 2023, and a fellow collector decided it was time to let his copy of the MR-made Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce go, as he asked for a decent price in my opinion, I picked up this amazing red metallic Superveloce, and while it's an older MR, it doesn't have any issues with the side windows bulging, the paint is superb, complete with a lot of glitter in it, something I've been told on the real car is obtained by actually mixing crushed glass into the paint, not just metallic particles.

In total MR built 199 units of this specific model, this is #83/199, but honestly, I haven't seen one being listed for sale for many years, so when I had the opportunity to add this rare MR to the collection, I didn't have to think too long about it, this is a must-have in my opinion, now the hunt for the blue Superveloce Roadster is on.

Originally released in September 2015.
