The Lamborghini Huracan EVO was introduced in 2019, as the mid-life facelift for the original Huracan LP610-4, with a modified styling and more importantly, the 640 hp V10 engine from the Huracan Performante version, while the interior got a large 8.4-inch touchscreen on the central console, the EVO would also get a newly designed sport seat instead of the very harsh carbon fiber unit seen on the Performante, while the stitching pattern was modernized too, also in 2019 the EVO Spyder was introduced as the convertible version of this impressive V10.
For the Huracan EVO Lamborghini created a new shade of orange metallic, called Arancio Xanto, a deeper, richer shade of orange compared to the well-known Arancio Borealis the Huracan inherited from her predecessor, the Gallardo, and it is this new shade that adorns my latest MR addition to the collection.
The scale model
This is the limited-edition 1/18 scale Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder made by MR Collection, only 49 were made, mine is number 12 of this very rare model, and she comes with some amazing details that are optional on the real car.
The Arancio Xanto color is taken from the Sportiva color pallet at Lamborghini, while this MR model is also fitted with the Style Package in high gloss black with a color-coded rear diffuser while the windshield surround is also optioned in high gloss black to match the Style Pack.
And while I would have preferred MR to fit orange brake calipers, they went with black calipers behind the optional Aesir 20-inch wheels in a stunning diamond-cut finish.
On the inside, this MR model of the Huracan EVO Spyder comes with the EVO-Trim Sportivo unicolor leather in Nero Ade with the Arancio Leonis contrast color and matching orange stitching, the optional floor mats with leather piping and Huracan script are present too on this 1/18 scale version, but there is no orange stitching on the steering wheel, but the Raging Bull crest sits proudly on both headrests.
As already mentioned, the Huracan EVO got newly designed sport seats, you can now opt for the normal, fully electric, and heated seats we've known since the Huracan LP610-4, or go for the hard-core Racing Seats in lightweight carbon fiber we've seen in the Performante version, or the seats we see inside this MR scale model, the new, more comfortable, but still lightweight Sport Seats.
This MR model also boasts the Interior dark chrome package, which eliminates all silver details on the central console and replaces it with a very dark finish, which looks much better if you ask me, naturally the cover over the start button is still bright red, we even get the optional Sensonum stereo system inside this scale model, even the rearview camera is present in 1/18 scale.
Bottom line
I have been waiting for AUTOart to do a Huracan Spyder, but that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon, so when I found this model I just had to add the first Huracan Spyder to my collection, and I rather like the Arancio Xanto color, it's amazing under the right light.
I have to say I was a little disappointed at some of the details on this model, specifically the dashboard inside, the stitching is badly fitted and it seems the plastic material isn't smooth, I don't know if MR wanted to mimic the grain of leather on the dashboard, but it looks odd.
Nonetheless, I absolutely love this model, finally a 1/18 scale Huracan Spyder in my collection, and it's the EVO edition ... now I'm waiting for the AUTOart Huracan EVO coupe to arrive in the same shade so I can put them side by side and enjoy both.
