This is my second model in 1/24 scale from Fabbri, actually they offer a package together with Quattroroute, a well known car magazine from Italy.
Together with this red Countach LP400S came a nice book about the Countach ... in Italian, so I'm learning this language now so I can read about the Quattroroute testing they performed back in the Eighties on these legendary Countach models.
I found this package during a visit to Auto Italia in the Netherlands, and I was immediately drawn to this small Countach, it is so well detailed for a 1/24 scale model, especially the interior and the engine compartment is really nicely done.
What I considered to be a nice, but important extra was the fact that this is a scale model of the Countach LP400S S2 model, so the 4-Liter model with the wide wheel arches and the flat Campagnolo wheels ... and no rear wing, just like a Countach should be in my opinion.
I don't know if these models are widely available, I haven't seen another one to be honest, so I'm really happy I was able to get hold of a copy in Houten, by the way, Fabbri also offers the Miura which is equally nicely finished.
The reason why I didn't give this model a four star rating is the fact that when I cleaned the model my cloth become seriously red ... which is normal for paint that isn't sealed with a clear coat, but still I didn't appreciate it, while on the photographs it is obvious the car isn't painted correclty, the shade changes from red to an orange shade from front to back ... but still I'm really happy with it, it's a rare model of a rare car ...
