“A rather nice 1/18 scale R/C model of the limited edition Lamborghini Veneno finished in the original Metaluro shade as shown in Geneva.”

The LamboDieCast review :

I know AutoArt has released an amazing looking 1/18 scale model of the limited edition Lamborghini Veneno LP750-4, but it hasn't arrived in Europe yet at the moment, and when I was this nifty little R/C model in a local toy store for only €25 I just couldn't resist adding it to my collection.

Sure it isn't highly detailed, there is no interior as the windows are plain black and unfortunately for an R/C model there are no lights (which I was expecting to be honest, usually there are headlights and taillights on these remote control models) ... but still it is a 1/18 scale model of the Veneno, and in fact it is the first model of that very special Bull I added to my collection.

I didn't want to pay about €400 for the MR model on the Lamborghini Veneno, as much as I like MR models and I do own a few of them, this time I passed an patiently awaited AutoArt to build it, as it turns out we will also be seeing a Kyosho made resin/plastic 1/18 model of both the Veneno and the Veneno Roadster ... so in the end I will probably get the Veneno by AutoArt in the original Metaluro grey metallic shade and the Veneno Roadster from Kyosho in the Rosso Veneno shade.

Back to this R/C model now, made by XQ (I also own a 1/18 Reventon R/C from them), it is finished in the slightly darker than silver metallic grey shade as seen on the show car in Geneva back in 2013, complete with the tricolor stripe on the side ... they did however forget about the red pinstripe on the outer edges of the spoiler and rear diffuser ... but it's a toy, what did you expect?

For the price I sure like this model, but you have to take care when you buy one, make sure you inspect the car thoroughly ... I went through just about the entire stock at the toy store to get one I liked, without any scratches or defects ... I don't think a lot of attention is given to quality control on these models, and many came with scratched paint and strangely aligned wheels ... so try to find one in a local store and inspect it prior to your purchase.

Once you get a good one it displays very nicely next to Bburago, Norev or Maisto ... I just wouldn't put it next to an Aventador from AutoArt just yet ... but that is not why you should get one of these R/C models ... they are just for fun.
