Another 1/18 scale Lamborghini Islero S, you might ask, well, yeah, KK Scale released four shades on this classic GT from the Sixties, so I decided to get all of them, you know me, so this is the light green metallic on tan one, a period-correct color on this specific model from Sant’Agata, it looks like a slightly lighter version of Verde Palido Metallizzato, a very rare color on the real Lamborghini Islero S.

So the Lamborghini Islero was only Ferruccio’s second model after founding Automobili Lamborghini SpA in 1963, he launched the Lamborghini 350 GT, which evolved into the 400 GT and 400 GT 2+2. Still, when Carrozzeria Touring closed its doors, he had to replace his first-ever production car with the Islero, which became the Islero S in 1969, also referred to as the 400 GTS.

In the end, only 100 units of the Lamborghini Islero S were built before the Jarama took over, built on a shortened Espada chassis, making the Islero a rather rare car nowadays, but most enthusiast registries believe most of those 100 cars still exist today, mostly in private collections, and possibly up to 75% still in very good to near-perfect condition.

And even today, a Lamborghini Islero S is not a highly sought-after model in real life, despite being so rare, it doesn’t have the aura of the Miura or the Countach, it is a high-speed GT car, a 2+2 seater, and rumored to have been Ferruccio’s favorite car he made back in the Sixties and Seventies, and while at the time of writing a good Islero will be worth north of $250,000, that pales in comparison to the value of a Miura, which is over ten times that amount.

For me, a Lamborghini Islero is part of the history of Automobili Lamborghini SpA, so I have no intention of not adding one to my collection, even if I already had two shades from Cult Scale Models, and now four colors from KK Scale, I will still be adding more if they are released, and when they come in this really nice, light green metallic on a tan interior, that’s even better.

This color combination really suits a classic Lamborghini GT like the Islero S, and while I really liked the dark red metallic one from KK Scale, this green is just as nice on display in my cases, I have no regret adding it to the collection, and if you are looking to add this classic to your collection, just go for the shade you like best, you will not be disappointed.
