Few cars have defined an era quite like the Lamborghini Miura, and this new release from Kyosho's 1:18 scale, all-opening model of the P400 captures the essence of this groundbreaking machine with stunning precision. First unveiled in 1966, the Miura was not only Lamborghini’s first mid-engine production car but also the vehicle that coined the term "supercar." Now, over half a century later, Kyosho has brought that legacy to life in miniature form—down to every last vent, louver, and eyelash-surrounded headlamp.

This model is based on the original P400, the first production variant of the Miura. Between 1966 and 1968, just 265 units were made, and Kyosho pays homage to this rarity with an exceptional attention to detail. From the outside, the car’s Bertone-designed silhouette is instantly recognizable: wide, sleek, and impossibly low, with that famous 110 cm overall height accurately scaled down. The "eyelash" headlight trims, the sweeping front hood line, and the elegantly integrated rear arches are all present, and all beautifully done.

Being an all-opening model, Kyosho gives collectors full access to the Miura’s iconic features. Pop the front clamshell and you'll find a beautifully finished spare wheel bay and chassis detailing. Open the doors, and the cabin impresses with two recessed gauges (rev counter and speedometer), faithfully recreated switchgear, and excellent seat texture and stitching—showcasing Kyosho’s craftsmanship in 1:18 interiors.

Where this model truly shines, though, is under the rear hatch. The transversely mounted V12 engine, revolutionary at the time, is displayed in fine form. Wiring, intake manifolds, and the unique engine-gearbox layout are all represented with high realism. The heat-dispersing rear window louvers are delicately rendered in scale, matching both function and form of the original.

This Kyosho Miura also evokes the car's cultural significance. The real Miura became a celebrity in its own right, famously opening the 1969 film The Italian Job, gliding through the Alps to the smooth tones of Matt Monro. That same romantic aura radiates from this model—it’s not just a replica, it’s a miniature tribute to one of the greatest automotive designs of all time.

For collectors, this is a must-have piece. Whether displayed with the panels closed to showcase its elegant lines, or fully opened to admire the engineering within, the 1:18 Kyosho Miura P400 is a celebration of Lamborghini's bold innovation and timeless style. It’s not just a scale model—it’s automotive history, captured at 1:18 perfection.

These are the three shades that have recently been released by Kyosho on this Lamborghini Miura P400, orange, red, and white:
