Back in 2016 Automobili Lamborghini SpA released a very special Ad Personam edition based on the Aventador LP700-4, available in a limited number of shades, the Miura Homage came with contrasting lower side sills and part of the front bumper painted in either silver or gold ... just like on the Miura from the Sixties.
The Dione wheels came as standard, color-coded to the side sill, so either in silver or gold, a production run of only 50 units would be done all with black fins on the engine cover to mimic the louvers seen on the Miura, the section between the rear vents, under the taillights is also finished in black on these Aventador Miura Homage Special Edition models.
A very special 'Miura 50th' logo is mounted on the side sills, just in front of the rear wheels, for the interior only two shades are possible, either Nero or Terra Emilia, a warm shade of brown, note that the seat back shows a custom Miura 50th logo and only for these Homage cars the Lamborghini script is stitched on the dashboard. A special plaque stating '1 di 50' is fitted on the side of the dashboard to clearly show this is a highly limited edition version of the V12 flagship model.
The official press release from Lamborghini stated : "The original Miura was produced in a plethora of color and trims, often to the particular specification of a client, with six of the most iconic solid and metallic colorways selected for the Aventador Miura Homage including Rosso Arancio Miura (solid color); Verde Scandal (solid); and Blu Tahiti (metallic)"
The scale model
Unfortunately the only company making the Aventador Miura Homage in 1/18 scale is MR, and those models are just too expensive for me, so I haven't been able to add one to my collection yet, that is why I went ahead and bought this 1/43 scale model, which for the price is actually rather nicely finished.
This isn't a Looksmart model, and I wasn't expecting anything near the quality of that high-end brand, but when this box arrived I was pleasantly surprised, for only €24 this is actually a very nice model, even the interior shows some nice detail.
So, for now, I'm happy with this small scale model of the Aventador Miura Homage Special Edition, and I hope one day I'll be able to add her larger, 1/18 scale version too ...
